Göttingen minipig is an accepted strain for regulatory toxicity studies and the ratio of minipig studies within non-rodent regulatory studies is growing profoundly. These animals are widely used for the testing of topical formulations (dermal irritation, toxicity, dermal penetration, PK) due to the exceptional similarity of the structure of their skin to the human one.
